Privacy Policy

Effective 5 October 2026 · Applies to the CoLog app for iOS and Android and to this website.

The short version

1. Who we are

CoLog ("CoLog", "we", "us") is made by SYMPL. SYMPL is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at support@colog.app.

2. Your logs and where they live

Your "content" is what you create in CoLog: workspaces, buttons, rules, logs (what and when), and any notes you add to a log. Where it's stored depends on how you use the app:

How you use CoLogWhere your content is storedCan SYMPL access it?
As a guestOnly on your deviceNo
Signed in with AppleOn your device, plus a private app container in your iCloud account (not visible in the Files app)No
Signed in with GoogleOn your device, plus the hidden app-data folder in your Google Drive (CoLog asks only for the drive.appdata permission and can't see your other Drive files)No

Syncing happens directly between the app and Apple or Google. Their own privacy policies apply to the data they store for you: Apple, Google.

Logs can describe sensitive things, such as medication or mood. Because we don't receive your content, we don't process it. Please still treat your phone and cloud account as the place that protects it.

3. Signing in

Signing in is optional. When you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, the app receives your name, email address (Apple may give a private relay address) and an account identifier. The app uses them to show which account you're signed in with and, in shared workspaces, to show who logged what. They're kept on your device and in your own cloud storage alongside your content.

4. Shared workspaces and invites

If you share a workspace, the people you invite can see that workspace's buttons and logs, and the name or email of whoever made each log. Workspace members are also stored in the workspace's own files.

To deliver invites, we run a small invite service. It processes only what's needed to connect people to a workspace: the invitee's email address or invite link, the inviter's name or email, a workspace identifier, and the invite's status. It doesn't receive your logs or notes. Invite records are deleted once they're accepted, declined or expired.

5. Reminders and notifications

Reminders come from rules you set (for example, "Water every 2h"). They are scheduled on your device as local notifications. They don't go through our servers, and we don't collect a push token for them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

6. Advertising

The free version of CoLog shows ads served by a third-party ad network (such as Google AdMob). To serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the ad network's software in the app may collect:

Ad partners never receive the content of your logs or notes.

Your choices

7. CoLog Plus purchases

CoLog Plus is an in-app subscription sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment, and we never receive your card or bank details. We receive only what's needed to unlock Plus: proof of purchase, the product, and the subscription's status and renewal dates.

10. How long data is kept

Your content stays on your device and in your cloud until you delete it. Invite records are deleted once they're used or expire. Ad partners keep data according to their own policies. Purchase records are kept by Apple or Google, and by us only as long as needed for the subscription and as the law requires.

11. Deleting your data

You're in control of your data, and you don't need to contact us to delete it.

Delete your account in the app

Open CoLog, go to Account → Delete account, and confirm. This permanently deletes your CoLog data from your iCloud or Google Drive and from that device, removes you from any shared workspaces, deletes any invite records we hold for you, and signs you out. It can't be undone. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a CoLog Plus subscription, so cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings too.

If you can't use the app, follow the steps below for your account type, or email us (see "Everything else").

Guest data

Delete individual logs and buttons in the app, or uninstall CoLog to remove all of its data from that device.

Signed in with Apple (iCloud)

Signed in with Google (Google Drive)

Everything else

Signing out removes your synced data from that device. To delete any invite records or other data SYMPL holds about you, email support@colog.app from the address you use with CoLog. We'll confirm deletion within 30 days. Because we don't hold your logs, deleting your cloud data as described above is the way to erase them.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Israel's Privacy Protection Law, or US state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, and opt out of targeted advertising. Most of your data is already in your hands. For anything we hold, contact us and we'll respond within the time the law requires. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

13. Children

CoLog isn't directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. Parents may log things about a child, such as feeds or sleep, and that content stays on their device and in their own cloud. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

14. Security

Data moves between the app, Apple, Google and our invite service over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are kept in your device's secure storage (Keychain or Keystore). No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your device and cloud accounts with a passcode and two-factor authentication.

15. International transfers

Apple, Google, our ad partner and our hosting providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

16. This website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or ads. The live demo on the home page runs entirely in your browser and doesn't save or send anything. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and reliability.

17. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before they take effect. The current version always lives at this address.

18. Contact
